Home Again

After a wonderful week in Paris I am home again. That's right, home. It's funny when it happens but at some point you get on a plane bound for Baku (or where ever the State Department decides to send you) and as the plane approaches the runway you think, "this is home." You open your apartment door and look around and you're *glad* to be back. Some psychologist, I am sure, would call this the last stage of culture shock, or come to think of it, the last stage of grieving: acceptance.

I was not a typical tourist in Paris. Although we went to a few boutiques and fancy shops, I did most of my shopping at food stores. I managed to bring back about ten pounds of frozen fish (don't laugh) and a ton of cheese. I even managed to smuggle in some lobster tails for Liam's birthday later this week. I love food and will go to great lengths to make my belly happy.

Speaking of food, my friend Jenn posted a link to this great website with what looks to be fabulous Azerbaijani recipes. So in honor of all the great food I ate last week (croissants, mussels, duck, quiches galore, chocolate mousse, the list goes on . . .) and all the great food that is yet to come: bon appetite and nush olson!
